Quick and easy sweet popcorn additive.

I am not a huge fan of popcorn, but a few weeks ago I grabbed a bag of kernels. These don't come in those "popping bags", and you normally pop them in something like a large pot. Obviously, these do not come with any additives, thus you can get creative. In this recipe, I'll show you how to make your own chocolate popcorn additive.

Ingredients

  • 100-150g of chocolate chips - these are the ones you use for cookies; pick your favorite chocolate kind, I'm going to go with milk chocolate ones. Note: white chocolate tastes much different when melted.
  • 2 or 3 table spoons of shreded coconut
  • 1 packet (9g) of vanilla sugar
  • About 20 table spoons of milk

Preparation

chocolate chips starting to melt

Grab a sauce pan or a clean frying pan. Put milk in it and add all of the ingredients, then place it on the stove onto medium heat.

Stir continuously or the chips will burn to the bottom of the pan. I've melted my chips until they were little pieces because I like them this way. If you want to completely melt yours, add more milk.

Milk here makes our mix more liquid; we want that so it would spread all over our popcorn, so make sure not all of it evaporates by the time your chips are melted - if it does, just add more.

Once your chips are properly melted, pour our mix all over the popcorn that is already in a bag, and vigorously shake that bag for about 40-60 seconds to let the mix thoroughly cover all the popcorn.

Make sure that nothing flies out, hot chocolate burns are nasty. Let your popcorn sit for about 5 to 10 minutes to let the chocolate cool off.
