Original and easy to make desert.

When I woke up today I found that I still had several bananas left from making FruitZZ dish. I recalled how I've seen on TV some African nations roasting bananas over open fire, and decided to bake mine. Since, I'm not really up to eating roasted fruit for dinner, I decided to make a desert.

Ingredients

  • 3 bananas
  • 1 and 1/4 table spoons of shredded coconut
  • 4 table spoons of sugar
  • 4 table spoons of lemon juice
  • A bit less than a tea spoon of vanilla sugar

Preparation

Banana pieces

Mixed icing with vanilla sugar about to go in

Baking iced bananas

Peel the bananas and cut them into 3/4" round pieces. Note that on the pictures I've cut mine to about 1", and I feel they need to be a bit shorter.

Put the pieces on the cut ends up on a baking sheet and bake them for 5 minutes in the oven preheated to 450°F.

In a meantime, in a cup, mix the rest of the ingredients and stir them well to ensure that they mix up evenly.

Once the bananas are ready, take them out of the oven and carefuly place the icing that we made in the cup on top of each banana. If you're more careful than I, you should have the perfect amount of icing; otherwise, you might need to mix some more of it.

Cook the iced bananas for another 4 minutes. Take them out, let them cool and serve.

WARNING: don't try to taste BananaZZ right out of the oven, melted sugar will stick to your tounge and leave a nasty and painful burn.

Final Product

Here's my morning desert: Finished BananaZZ
